My life’s work began on a conscious level at a leadership camp I was invited to attend in high school. It was a catalyst for me starting to get to know myself deeply through self-discovery tools, committing to becoming more fully my authentic self and knowing I wanted to help others do the same. My first job was a camp counselor role where I was given full creative license to create and facilitate a self-discovery program for teens – my first experiment creating a life-changing container for the transformation of others. It was then that I realized I have a natural gift of seeing peoples’ full potential, and that through educating and facilitating, I have the power to help turn that potential into reality. I was invited to be the camp’s program director guiding all the leaders to have impactful offerings.
I next began my professional career as an elementary teacher in 1990 and created a classroom of self-discovery and self-actualization for my 4th and 5th grade students. The environment was inclusive and both neurodivergent and neurotypical students flourished in our space where passions, interests, multiple intelligences, unique strengths and learning differences were seen, celebrated and nurtured. The attention our classroom received through the media and state-wide universities showed me that there was a desire for this kind of learning community – fueled by self-discovery – which fueled my passion and vision further.
After teaching for eight years, I was invited to be an assistant principal and was able to take my influence beyond the classroom. Community members sought me out for out-of-the-box solutions and parents of students who were non-verbal communicators requested I attempt to work with their children on a psychic level. I had parents visiting my office asking if I could life coach them. They encouraged me to take my abilities out into the world and work with adults, so I began informal life coaching on the side. I felt a strong calling to expand my life’s work outside of public education, but wasn’t sure what that looked like. I took my first sabbatical and asked the universe for direction.
During my first sabbatical, a LOT of synchronicities occurred, guiding me step by step on my path, as I dove deep into spirituality and experimented with psychic work. I received my Reiki 1 and 2 certifications and intuitive reader designation from the California Board of Hypnotherapy. My teacher, a fourth-generation metaphysician, told me I was a “teacher of teachers.” I was invited by local bookstores and metaphysical shops to be an intuitive guide, speaker and card reader. A very accomplished psychic medium and author stood up at his book signing at one of the stores and told me, “You can do what I can do.”
Combining coaching and spirituality with my expertise as an educator, I created my first international online course, Living in Alignment with Your Highest Potential, in 2005. It filled to capacity, affirming my path. With a growing family at the time, my work was part time. When my kids grew up, I felt called to get my International Coaching Federation (ICF) certificate because I wanted to make a bigger impact. After I got my certificate, I designed my coaching practice and was invited to speak to a classroom of 20 coaches. 12 of them asked me if I would be their personal coach. While I was working with the 12, they saw how I created my business and told me I should create a class to teach people how to run a business that is aligned to their gifts.
I answered the invitation of creating the course, and filled the class the day enrollment opened. As I taught them the entrepreneurship foundations necessary to create and grow a business, I observed a need, once again, for a deeper understanding of self. I offered a 2.0 version of my course that included a deeper dive into self-discovery and not only did the participants upgrade their business model, branding and offers, they told me that they had come home to themselves and experienced epiphanies about their life purpose on repeat during our time together. My most dedicated students explored their astrology, Human Design and Gene Keys from my menu of self-discovery tools. My heart sang with joy because my special interests include these deep dive esoteric tools for self-discovery, soul alignment and life purpose fulfillment.
After this experience, I was invited by the ICF to teach a workshop for coaches developing their coaching businesses. My workshop showed coaches how to magnetically attract their soulmate clients by knowing themselves deeply and using their unique gifts. At the close of the workshop, I immediately got requests from some of the coaches to show them how to use astrology, Human Design and Gene Keys to hone their personal magic. My plate was already full and I didn’t know how I was going to accommodate their needs.
The morning after the workshop, an unexpected sign from the universe stopped me in my tracks. I found myself temporarily disabled when half of my fingers curled to my palms in a locked position, literally putting me on lockdown from not only my work, but also from doing basic needs that required my hands. I asked the universe how to move forward with my work without the use of my hands, and my answer came: You’ve been trained to use your mind, so use your mind. I spent months just thinking in my head about my next steps, but not being able to put them on paper. What I noticed is what came back – my spiritual senses. I was having clearer intuition, and using manifestation techniques like attracting what I wanted through intention and the practice of surrender. This healing sabbatical lasted a year and a half, and now, the fall of 2023, is my re-emergence.
Now, I invite YOU to discover yourself more deeply and explore your greatest potential – so that you can hone your unique gifts, answer your calling and create the reality you desire!
